They will keep the same format for the first part of the morning but from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm we will be running an enterprise workshop for anyone who might be interested in starting their own business. The running order for each event will be as follows: 9:00: Agencies & community services to set up Stands/info displays 9.30: Registration and opportunity to browse information stands and talk to agencies 10.15: Welcome guests and outline supports available to people in local area 10.40: Guest Speaker 11.30: Close this part of the morning. Reach Your Potential – A Week of Opportunities with SECAD Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March – 10.00 am to 12.00 pm daily South & East Cork Area Development (SECAD) is organising a series of ‘Opportunities Mornings’ during the week of 23rd March throughout the SECAD area. The purpose of the events is to highlight the opportunities available to people in their local area in terms of education, training, employment & enterprise options. Visitors to the events will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from key agencies who can take them through their options whether the person wants to go back to work, re-train, return to education or learn about starting a business. Agencies will include: Dept of Social Protection, Cork Education & Training Board, Cork Training Centre, Cork City & County Volunteer Centre, Cork Chamber of Commerce Skillnets, Employability and SECAD. Support organisations including MABS and Shine will also be in attendance. Each event will start at 10.00 am so that visitors can talk to agency personnel on the stands. At 11.00 am, a representative from SECAD will welcome everyone and give a brief outline about the supports available in each area.
Our Defibrillator Group will host an open night on March 26th in Killeagh Hall at 8.30 pm. There will be demonstrations of the equipment that we have available in the parish, a guest speaker and a Q&A session with our instructors. And of course, tea and coffee! Admission will be free
Hi All, A quick email to announce details of the Structures at Risk Scheme for 2015 as well as details regarding the 2015 Grant Aid for projects on the Government Policy on Architecture. Details are included under the relevant headings below. It is expected that there will more news on heritage funding in the coming weeks and details of same will be provided once available. Also a quick reminder to all of those community/heritage groups that the closing date for the Cork County Council Municipal District Grant Scheme is today fortnight, the 27th of February, and it is hoped that a number of heritage themed proposals are put forward for same (details also set out below). Also worthy of mention, and particularly for those wildlife enthusiasts amongst us, is that a draft Pollinator Plan has been recently brought out by the National Biodiversity Data Centre. More details on this are included under the relevant heading below. The Sports Capital Programme (SCP The Sports Capital Programme (SCP) is operated by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and provides grants to assist in the development of sports facilities and the provision of sports equipment. A portal must be used by organisations to register their interest in the SCP, apply for funding (when the Programme is open for applications) and manage the drawdown of any new grants allocated after 2013.
