A vital asset to East Cork and Killeagh village, Glenbower Wood and Playground continues to attract large numbers of visitors.
There were 2 fundraising events held in Glenbower Wood during 2013, the first for Youghal Cancer Support Group and Crumlin Hospital. This was organised by Deirdre Fitzgerald and the committee helped with same.
The annual Music in the Wood event was held in August. Thanks to all the musicians who gave of their time freely. The money raised at this event goes towards insurance costs.
In 2014 it is hoped to increase the fundraising efforts. It is also hoped to improve pathways and signage/drainage in the woods. We would greatly appreciate support from anybody who has an interest in keeping Glenbower Wood a viable tourist attraction and help to develop it to its maximum potential.
