Coffee Morning

On 20th February there will be a coffee morning in Power’s pub, Mt. Uniake in aid of the Defibrillator Group. The morning will be from 10 – 12.30 and there will be great prizes for the raffle!

Defibrillator Group Thanks Cork Co. Council

On Monday 10th February Cllr. Barbara Murray met with members of our Defibrillator group who wished to express their thanks for Cork County Council’s support of our Defibrillator Group. In 2013 we received a grant of €10,000 which has gone towards buying extra defibrillators; training equipment, and training new members.

Grant funding

The Worldwide Ireland Funds are a philanthropic network that supports worthy causes in Ireland and around the world. Their mission is to be the largest network of friends of Ireland dedicated to supporting programs of peace and reconciliation, arts and culture, education and community development throughout the island of Ireland.    They have two grant programmes currently available which may be of interest to your organisation. 1.     Small Grant The objective of the Small Grants Round is to enable as many organisations as possible to fund new and innovative responses to social need. Small Grant Round Funding Priorities The Ireland Funds accept applications for projects that fit within their four key programme areas of Arts & Culture, Community Development, Education and Peace & Reconciliation. Proposed activities should fit within one of their Promising Ireland Campaign Priority Areas, which include Investing in Ireland’s CommunitiesSupporting a Shared Future for Northern IrelandProviding Access to EducationPromoting Culture and HeritageAssisting Disadvantaged YouthAssisting the Elderly “Forgotten Irish”Promoting Philanthropy in Ireland Size of Awards The maximum amount organisations may request is €10,000. There are a few things coming up that may be of interest to various groups in your community: 1. Funding available IPB Insurance has set up a fund which is open to all community or voluntary groups, local clubs or associations, not-for-profit and charitable organisations operating at a local level within the Republic of Ireland.  They are inviting applications for funding from projects which promote social inclusion under the following headings: Arts & Culture Community Development Elderly People Physical Activity & Sport Environment Youth Your organisation must be: Operating at a local level within the Republic of Ireland Established for at least 12 months Applying for an initiative that falls under one of the six categories Applying for an initiative that will be completed in 2014 The maximum amount for which any one applicant may apply is €15,000.  Applications for funding between €2,500 – €7,000 and €10,000 – €15,000 will be considered If you are interested in finding out more about this fund, go to the website at www.cse.ipb.ie.
